What we collect

This site logs the following information on each visit:

• IP address of the requesting client (retained for up to 24 hours)
• Page path and timestamp of each request
• Entity names searched and added to the comparison table

Why we collect it

IP addresses are retained briefly to understand how visitors navigate the site within a session. They are not used to identify individuals. This data is used solely to understand how the site is being used — which searches are popular and how much traffic the site receives. It is not shared with any third parties and is not used for advertising or profiling.

IP address retention and anonymization

IP addresses are automatically deleted every night at 4 am and replaced with an anonymous visitor ID. Records older than 24 hours never contain a raw IP address. The anonymous ID preserves session-level patterns (e.g. which pages a visitor viewed in sequence) without identifying who the visitor was.

What we don't collect

• No cookies are set
• No user accounts or personal information
• No tracking pixels or third-party analytics

All campaign finance data displayed on this site is sourced from publicly available Texas Ethics Commission (TEC) filings. No private or proprietary data is used. You can access the original records at ethics.state.tx.us.
